Emptiness

Emptiness (2023)
The main topic of focus for me currently is the inner world of a person, their own feelings and experiences. The influence of things on a person's worldview. The relationship from children's perception of the world to the adult subconscious world. I equate my creativity with a naked soul, highlighting the problems of society that affect or have something to do with me through image and color.
Currently, I am exploring the notion of emptiness by researching one's own experiences deepened through the analysis of thoughts, instructions of society, from a turning point to enlightenment and harmony with oneself.
Diana Ruban is a painter from Kremenchuk, Poltava region in Ukraine. After seeing her father draw while growing up, she delevoped a talent for painting. Since then, brushes and paints have become a part of her life.
Diana argues that art is a feeling. Every time she immerses herself in a piece, she studies the emotions that surge and focuses on catching the moment. The artist’s philosophy is visible through her work — it makes you slow down, feel the mood and explore the depth within each piece.
Before the full-scale war, Diana held multiple creative master classes and lectures. Recent shows include a solo exhibition at Bruma Gallery and multiple international exhibitions. She is currently planning a new project exploring the beauty of and detail of motifs found in traditional Ukrainian tapestries.
